Happy Shavuot - Chag Sameach!

It's Shavuot!
(That's the holiday where we celebrate God giving the Jews the Torah.)

Since Abba and Ima are too exhausted and disheveled to dress decently and leave the house or have any guests over or celebrate the holiday in any normal way whatsoever
Since we are so incredibly excited about Shavuot,
we decided to bake some cupcakes to celebrate.

We made the cake batter in lots of different colors
to represent all the different types of people who received Torah

We mixed the colors together to represent all the different ways to experience Torah,

but did not under any circumstances put blue and yellow together
to represent that some things are never allowed in the Torah no matter what.

The white frosting is for the white clouds that covered the mountain,
and the sprinkles are for the people that stood there.

The chocolate wafers are luchot haBrit (the tablets of the Ten Commandments)

We made twelve cupcakes to represent the twelve tribes of Israel,
but got impatient to eat our treats and ate two of them after lunch
decided that it would be better to have ten cupcakes for the Ten Commandments.

Yum.
