Detox and Reset

From a conversation with Asher as he was about to leave on the long car ride to Kansas City:

Asher: "Hey, Ima?"
Me: "Yes, baby?"
Asher: "Can I still go to time out in Kansas City?"
Me: (trying to keep from laughing, scoffing, or otherwise disrespecting Ashi's very earnest question) "Yes, sweet one, you most certainly can."

When our days with Saba, Savta, Auntie Al, Uncle Tad, and Uncle Steve were winding down,
Auntie Al predicted that the boys would be going through a serious detox.
After experiencing what can only be considered the perfect long weekend,
our two little guys were going to have to get used to once again going to bed on time,
being appropriately disciplined,
(in Nesi's case) *not* being held at literally every moment,
eating (for the most part) healthy food,
and having just one adult to respond to their every demand (instead of two adults apiece.)

To say she was right would be an understatement.
I'll spare you the gory details
(unless, of course, something so hilarious egregious happens that begs me for a blog post.)

I beg your patience as our three little addicts sweeties finish up their detox
and as I reset our household
(unfortunately, toilets do not scrub themselves, boxes don't automatically unpack, and menu plans do not miraculously appear on my calendar).

In the meantime, a rare snap of my three little ducklings all together that made me smile today - hopefully it does the same for you as well.

  2. My sister-in-law put her kids on timeout on the stairs (i.e. if you're on timeout you have to sit on the stairs). When they moved her kids asked "does the new house have stairs?"
